About The Center

The Center for Health Care Policy, Research and Analysis is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt, public charity organization. The mission of The Center is two-fold:
1) to conduct research and analysis towards developing a universal access health care delivery and single-payor financing system in the United States and
2) to design stakeholder and consumer education materials for such a system. By doing so, The Center hopes to prevent the premature deaths each year of 18,000 uninsured Americans.

  1. This is an excellent repository of work on the health care issue.

I have an in depth diary (article) entitled “Why Max Baucus Should be Off the Table in Health Care Reform” at http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/3/13/05542/8738/942/707925

My article makes use of some excellent informtion found on this web site. Keep up the good work!

  2. I agree with the conclusions in the article “The U.S. Health Care Does Not Have a Normal Market!!”. The above artilce is very important if we continue to see health care as a privilege. However, I believe there is a fundamental issue of deciding if health care is a right or a privilege As a right, the availability and cost control should be similar to our water and electricity supply. A free market system relies on choices but in health care the choice is often your money or your life. I have difficulty understanding how health care decisions can be effective in the long run without cost control as well as the guarantee of access to basic care. My concern is without cost containment, health care premiums will continue to rise and lead to larger numbers of people unable to afford even mandated coverage without both the person and our government going broke.

Have your say
